Take the Next Steps to Reduce Your Environmental Footprint

1/18/2022
Corporate sustainability efforts are more important now than ever before. Being aware and proactive in reducing your environmental footprint can not only help the planet, but it can also improve your bottom line. As an industry, we must strive to continuously improve our energy consumption and the impact we have on the world around us.

By working towards a greener future, companies are showcasing corporate responsibility which in-turn helps the environment, our manufacturing processes, our customers’ buying experiences and even our bottom line. Studies show that customers are more likely to purchase products or services from companies committed to improving their sustainability efforts. This poses that question – what can manufacturers do to support a more sustainable future?

Regular reviews of processes

An important process to implement (if it isn’t in place already) is regular reviews of all manufacturing processes. Understanding all of the processes that exist within your plant and where excess materials go once they leave your plant is necessary to recognize the full extent of your impact. By scheduling regular reviews, new and old processes can be analyzed to determine their impact on the environment and problems or target areas identified.

Create an action plan

Reviewing your processes is only beneficial to improving sustainability efforts if you can then act on the problem areas and create plans for improvement. Action plans should be put into place for continuous use and should also be reviewed regularly to ensure you are doing as much as you can to reduce your environmental impact.

Invest in products that support sustainability

Once you have taken a close look at your processes and analyzed their impacts, you must then take action to reduce said impact. For example, reducing a plant’s air consumption can decrease energy usage and operating costs. Over our 60+ years of working in the industrial manufacturing industry, we have seen first-hand how inefficient some air solutions can be and how plants can reduce their compressed air usage by implementing Vortec air solutions. Below are just a few ways Vortec solutions can help reduce air consumption.
  • Vortec Air Nozzles reduce operating costs due to compressed air usage by up to 80%.
  • Vortec Air Flow Amplifiers reduce compressed air usage as opposed to open nozzles and use less energy than competitor’s fans or blowers.
  • Thermostatically-controlled Vortex Enclosure Coolers reduce the amount of compressed air needed to keep control panels cool, sometimes by as much as 67%.
  • Patented Vortec dual stage enclosure coolers use a thermal actuator to control and minimize the amount of compressed air needed to provide optimal temperature control to your electrical and electronic components.
These are just a few examples of how plants can make small improvements to their processes that will result in a large impact. Commit to a greener future and implement sustainability efforts into your operations today.
