Vortex A/C Protects Control Panels for Drying Systems
Customer Overview
Paxton Products, is a leader in air delivery and blower systems for manufacturing facilities. Paxton Products specializes in centrifugal blowers for industrial use and continues to innovate with energy-efficient blowers and advanced air flow systems, including air knives and drying solutions for various applications. Their products, like the CapDryer and CanDryer, provide high-performance drying with safety and ease of installation.
The Challenge
Paxton Products launched their new product, the Paxton Control Panel, to offer manufacturers a simplified solution to manage Paxton Blowers in a turnkey manner. The Control Panel is equipped with many internal components including: a VFD, emergency stop, lock-out capabilities, and PLC communication. With this number of electrical components enclosed in a small panel, Paxton Products faced the risk of temperature control issues and downtime caused by over-heating. To maintain continuous running of their Control Panel to operate their blower-driven drying systems, Paxton Products needed a simple, cost-effective solution to maintain a steady temperature inside their Control Panel.
The Solution
Paxton Products looked to their sister company, Vortec, for a simplified cooling solution to integrate into their Control Panels. The Vortex A/C Enclosure Cooler was chosen as the cooling solution to be installed into the Control Panel to maintain a consistent temperature by utilizing compressed air and Vortex Tube Technology. After installing the Vortex A/C to the Control Panel, the engineering team was able to test the Control Panel to run Paxton Products Drying Systems and were able to report the temperature inside the panel remained constant at a cooler temperature. By installing this product, the team could eliminate the risk for downtime caused by over-heating electronics. Paxton Products will now offer their Control Panel with the optional feature of a Vortex A/C Enclosure Cooler integrated directly from the manufacturer, ensuring ease of installation for the customer.
About the Product
Enclosure Coolers keep Electrical and Electronic Enclosures cool, clean and protected and are a low-cost alternative to expensive, high-maintenance air conditioners; and avoid contamination with dirty, humid air caused by fans. Vortex Enclosure Air Conditioning Coolers maintain a slight pressurization in the cabinet to keep electrical and electronic components clean and dry, and most are thermostatically controlled to maintain enclosure temperatures within a specified temperature range. Vortec offers multiple types of enclosure cooling systems to meet your enclosure cooling needs, all available in a variety of cooling capacities and hazardous locations; Atex & UL certified models. Â
