Oil & Gas Protection: Enclosure Coolers for Hazardous Locations
20/2/2020
All hazardous locations face specific challenges in maintaining productivity, safety, and prolonging equipment life. When it comes to providing clean* and efficient cooling solutions in these environments, Vortec's hazardous location line of enclosure coolers (HazLoc, ATEX, and ProtEX) are unrivaled in functionality and reliability.
As the demand for oil and gas escalates, and the need for further exploration, drilling, and production increases, we need to ensure that we continue to maintain safe, productive equipment. As equipment has evolved and become more specialized, cooling applications must evolve to keep up with the increasing power needed to stay functional. Since these electrical systems produce higher levels of heat and are extremely sensitive to hazardous environmental factors, it is essential that these electrical systems are sealed and maintained properly to ensure a safe facility while preventing production loss.
Vortec has dedicated years of research and development to designing our line of hazardous location enclosure coolers. Utilizing vortex tube technology, our hazardous location enclosure coolers cool and maintain inside temperatures between 75-100 degrees Fahrenheit (24-38 degrees Celsius) with cooling capacities ranging from 900 to 5000 btuh (264 to1465 watts), while simultaneously, slightly pressurizing the cabinet to prevent gases, vapors, dusts, fibers and corrosives from entering the enclosure.
Since our enclosure coolers have no moving parts, little maintenance is required. Regularly changing the filter element in the compressed air filter is generally the only maintenance necessary. On top of that, our entire line of hazardous location enclosure coolers offer flexible mounting options (top, side, or front), reduce noise by 78%, and utilize a unique check valve to prevent purge air from escaping the enclosure and loss of pressure when cooling is not required. Vortec's line of enclosure coolers are engineered for easy installation and can be operational in less than 10 minutes. They are specifically designed to aid companies with electronics in hazardous areas and prevent them from ever having to worry about safety or loss of productivity again.
*Provided one follows all recommended compressed air line guidelines (utilizing a filter, and an air dryer)
