All Vortec Vortex A/C models (including the Electric, Hazloc, ATEX, and ProtEX Vortec A/C models) are quiet vortex enclosure coolers. Just as quiet as an air conditioner (about 67 dBA), the Vortex A/C noise level is much less than other conventional, vortex type cabinet coolers. To demonstrate this, we compared the Vortex A/C model to one of the competitor's top models in similar cooling capacities and NEMA ratings.  

Vortex A/C’s are thermostatically controlled to maintain enclosure temperatures within a range of 80° to 90° F (27°C to 32°C). Requiring only a compressed air supply line to operate, the Vortex A/C quickly installs in a 1.5" knockout hole to keep electrical enclosures cool, clean, and protected.  Our A/C product line is suitable for various locations, including NEMA Type 4X, 4, and 12, along with our Hazardous location lines covering most NFPA and ATEX hazardous locations. Withstanding extreme conditions, the weatherproof, corrosion-resistant Vortex A/C will provide reliable cooling operation in environments up to 175°F(79°C).
