ProtEX Vortex A/C Coolers are designed specifically for purged * Electrical Enclosures in IECEx, ATEX Zones 1 and 21, UL Class I, Div. 1 (Groups A,B,C and D), Class II, Div. 1 (Groups F and G), Class III and Temperature Class T3 areas. The ProtEX Vortex A/C incorporates the most up-to-date features into Vortec’s line of highly reliable, cost-effective enclosure coolers.
ProtEX Vortex A/Cs maintain a slight pressurization on the cabinet to keep electrical and electronic components clean and dry; and most are thermostatically controlled to maintain enclosure temperatures within a specified temperature range.
The ProtEX models have a 3 year warranty. We recommend that the product be replaced after 3 years because there is an internal part (a one-way valve on the hot exhaust) that has a limited life span. Failure or malfunction of this internal part will not affect the hazardous location rating of the product. However, after 3 years the part can lose its functionality and the cooling efficiency and sound level can deteriorate.
